Die Anliegen der LGBTI*-Bewegung finden hierzulande von der radikalen Linken bis zum bürgerlichen Mainstream zunehmend Anerkennung. Die Rezeption, was aber nun genau der Kern dieser facettenreichen Bewegung ist, ist auch in ihr selbst umkämpft. In den vergangenen Jahren konnte sich so ein liberal-bürgerlicher diversity-Diskurs, wie auch ein pro-imperialistischer und islamfeindlicher Homonationalismus in der LGBTI*-Community etablieren. In der revolutionären Linken ist derweil umstritten, welchen Stellenwert die Bewegung für revolutionäre Politik haben kann. Werden einerseits LGBTI*-Anliegen von Gegner*innen der Identitätspolitik zur Nebensache abgetan, machen Befürworter*innen das Anliegen zunehmend zum Hauptrichtmaß für linke Politik – zumeist abseits jeder Frage von Antikapitalismus und Antiimperialismus. Auf den Philippinen hat sich unterdessen eine sozialistische, antiimperialistische LGBTI*-Bewegung herausgebildet, die klassenkämpferische Politik mit dem Kampf gegen Diskriminierung verbindet.
Wir haben Marlon Lacsamana von der LGBTI*-Organisation „Filipino LGBT Europe“ eingeladen, um über die Situation von LGBTI*s im südostasiatischen Land zu berichten. Er war dort in den so genannten nationaldemokratischen LGBTI*-Massenorganisationen organisiert, die der sozialistischen Bewegung nahe stehen. Er wird mit uns diesen Ansatz der Organisierung und der Verbindung von LGBTI*-Anliegen mit Klassenkampf und Antiimperialismus diskutieren und seine Erfahrungen mit Chauvinismus in der europäischen LGBTI*-Bewegung teilen.
Die Veranstaltung findet im Kontext zum „Philippine Solidarity Month“ auf den Philippinen statt. Diese antifaschistische Kampagne richtet sich gegen den tyrannischen Präsidenten Duterte, der eine unterdrückerische und gewalttätige Politik gegen alle dissidenten Stimmen vorantreibt und eine anhaltende mysogine und LGBTI*-feindliche Haltung an den Tag legt.
LGBTI between bourgeois integration and revolutionary struggle
From bourgeois mainstream to the radical left LGBTI*-demands won significant recognition in the recent years. But what exactly are the demands of the diverse movement is largely disputed. In Germany over the past years liberal-bourgeois currents that launched a discourse of diversity, also like homonationalist currents, that turn against Islam, became established in the community. Meanwhile the revolutionary left stays in dispute about the significance of the movement overall. While some enemies of identity-politics refuse the demands of LGBTI*s in general, supporters often exaggerate the same demands to an central indicator of left politics – apart of the question of class struggle or anti-imperialism. In the past decades on the Philippines occured a socialist and antiimperialist LGBTI*-Movement that combines class struggle and the fight against discrimination.
We invited Marlon Lacsamana from the LGBTI*-organisation „Filipino LGBT Europe“ to talk about the situation and struggle of LGBTI*s in the southeast asian country. He was organized in the so called national democratic LGBTI* Organisations that are linked to the socialist movement in the Philippines. Therefore he will also discuss this concept to combine antiimperialism, class struggle and LGBTI demands and his experiences with chauvinism in the LGBTI*-movement in Europe.
This event takes place in the context of the „Philippine Solidarity Month“. This antifascist campaign turns against the tyrannic rule of president Duterte and his violent politics against every dissident voice, along with his continuing misogynistic attitude towards the progressive women movement and his hatred against LGBTI*-persons.
